Synopsis
While reading a book aloud to his wife, Mo finds that he has an interesting talent: the ability to read elements straight out of a story and into real life. The catch is that things from the real world disappear into the story. That fatal night, Mo read his wife into the story, and read the antagonists out of it. Now realizing that he can exploit Mo’s abilities for his own gain, Capricorn will stop at nothing to capture Mo and his daughter Meggie in order to make this power his own.
Critique
Although I didn’t really like the book, I actually enjoyed the movie. I was expecting the same far too long escape and recapture scenes between Mo and Capricorn, many of which were still there but significantly shortened. There were plenty of changes to the movie, especially at the end, but overall, I think they were an improvement to the original story. My favorite aspects, however, were the camera effects and the soundtrack.
